How do I purchase O2 tablet insurance?

First, check out our different tablet insurance plan options and prices above – and find the level of cover that's right for you. Once you've decided, you can add O2 Insure as soon as you've chosen your tariff and before you complete your order.

Otherwise, you can ask in one of our stores or give us a call.

It's also possible to add insurance within 28 days after your purchase, but you’ll need to visit one of our stores to confirm the condition of your device.

How do I make a tablet insurance claim?

Need to claim for a damaged, lost or stolen tablet? No worries – it's stressful enough to be without your device, so we want to make it as easy as possible to get things sorted. To do this, we've created an O2 Insure online claims portal. You can use this to make (and track) your claim – no phone calls, no paperwork.

If you'd prefer, you can call us to make your claim by phone. You may be asked to fill out a claim form if you do, however.

We cover mobile phones and connected devices sold by O2. O2 Insure is only available to customers who are UK resident and over 18. 

For full details of what you are covered for and any exclusions that may apply please read the terms and conditions of your O2 Insure policy. Replacement devices may be from refurbished stock that has been tested and is fully functional.

You can cancel within 14 days of receiving your policy documents and and you won't be charged as long as you haven't claimed. After this period you may cancel by giving 30 days’ notice. O2 Insure is underwritten by Telefónica Insurance UK Branch.

Do I need tablet insurance if I have a warranty?

A manufacturer's warranty is a great bit of protection you get with any new tablet purchase. If your device develops a fault or a defect that isn't your fault, you could be able to claim a replacement direct from the manufacturer.

 

But your warranty won't cover accidental damage, loss or theft. That's why you might want to consider options to insure your iPad or tablet.


How many tablets can I cover?

With O2 Insure, you can cover as many tablets as you need – as long as they were sold by O2.


What does tablet insurance cost?

For O2 Insure - Damage Cover and O2 Insure - Full Cover, the replacement cost of your device determines the monthly premium and the excess charge payable if you make a successful claim. We’ll tell you which is the right price when you buy your tablet or speak to an adviser.


What excesses apply to tablet insurance?

An excess charge applies when you make a successful claim. The amount of the excess depends on your monthly premium.

Who are your insurers?

O2 insure is underwritten by Telefónica Insurance UK Branch, 120 New Cavendish Street, London, W1W 6XX, registered in UK No.FC029774, whose main business is general insurance. Telefónica Insurance UK Branch is authorised and regulated by Dirección General de Seguros y Fondos de Pensiones in Spain and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority for the conduct of UK business and limited regulation by the Prudential Regulation Authority.


How do I cancel O2 tablet coverage?

Unless the policy is free, you can cancel it within 14 days of receiving your policy documents, and you won’t be charged as long as you haven’t claimed. After this period, you can cancel the policy by giving 30 days’ notice. You may have to pay a premium for the time you were covered by the insurance.
