To qualify for O2 Open, you need to work for an eligible company. If you do, when you buy a brand new phone or tablet directly from us on O2 Refresh you can get up to 25% off the Airtime Plan. We’re already working with the NHS, teachers, Sainsbury’s and loads of other companies, so check whether your employer’s involved too.

To find out, simply text OPEN, followed by your company’s name, to 61202.

1. Check if you're eligible

Speak to your employer’s HR or benefits manager. Or text OPEN, followed by your company’s name, to 61202. If you’re upgrading, make sure you don’t have any active discounts on your account. You’ll then receive a text with a five-character code to use after you’ve made your purchase or upgrade.

2. Buy a new device on O2 Refresh

Choose a Pay Monthly phone, tablet or mobile broadband device from an O2 store or our online shop. See excluded devices.

3. Sign up to O2 Open

Use your My O2 username and password, and your employer’s unique five-character O2 Open company code, to sign into O2 Open. To get your company’s code, just text OPEN, followed by your company’s name, to 61202.

4. Add your discount

Within 28 days of the start of your contract, once your work email or payslip has been verified, sign into O2 Open and add your discount. The discount will appear on your second month’s bill.

Things to know

The O2 Open discount will last for the duration of your contract. You’ll need to sign into the Open portal twice to add the discount; first, to complete the verification process, and then again to add the discount. O2 Open isn’t available on Pay As You Go, sim only contracts, non-O2 Refresh tariffs, sharer plans, Ultimate Plans and contracts not bought directly from O2. See all exclusions.

With O2 Open you get:

25% discount on 3GB and above Airtime Plans (data, minutes and texts).

15% discount on 1GB and above Airtime Plans (data, minutes and texts).

You can claim your discount once you’ve bought your new phone or tablet. But remember that you’ll need to request it within 28 days of the start of your O2 Refresh contract. Your Device Plan (the monthly cost of your device) isn’t included in the offer. You won’t be eligible for the offer if you bought your phone through a third party. And there’s no discount available on Apple Watch Airtime Plans.

Are there any tariffs and plans not eligible for O2 Open?

Pay As You Go, non-O2 Refresh tariffs, sharer plans, Ultimate Plans and business accounts aren’t included in the O2 Open scheme. Sim only deals and contracts not bought directly from O2 are also not included.

Can I use more than one discount?

You can’t use airtime discount offers in conjunction with any other offer. Make sure you check your airtime agreement – if it includes any other offers or discounts, you won’t be eligible for O2 Open.

Our six months’ free airtime offer can’t be combined with the O2 Open discount.

What O2 discounts are available?

For O2 Airtime Plans with 3GB or more data a month, you can get a 25% discount on the Airtime Plan. And for Airtime Plans with less than 3GB data a month, you can get a 15% discount on the Airtime Plan.

Can I request an O2 Open discount at any time?

You need to request the O2 Open discount within 28 days of the start of your O2 Refresh contract.

How long does the O2 Open discount last for?

You’ll have your discount for the length of your Device Plan.
