Can I use my O2 Pay Monthly phone in Europe?
For O2 Pay Monthly customers, we cover roaming in our Europe Zone as part of our tariffs as standard. This means using your phone in Europe won't cost you any extra. Your data*, minutes or text allowances will work in 48 European territories just as they would at home.
(*subject to a Roaming Limit)
Limits on using O2 data in Europe?
If your UK monthly data allowance is more than 25GB, you'll have a Roaming Limit of 25GB when travelling in our Europe Zone. So, you can use up to 25GB of your monthly allowance at no extra cost. We'll text you if you're getting close to that limit – and again if you reach it.
You can still use data on your O2 phone in Europe when you reach our Roaming Limit – but you will be charged for it.

It’s a good idea to double-check if you’ll be travelling within our Europe Zone before you go away. Albania, Greenland, Montenegro and Turkey are not part of our Europe Zone, for example. Nor are Bosnia & Herzegovina, North Macedonia or Serbia.
You can only use our services for periodic travel (like holidays or short breaks) in our Europe Zone (excluding the UK). Otherwise we may charge you or have to suspend you from using our services in our Europe Zone (excluding the UK). If this has happened to you and you think it might be a mistake, call 202 from your mobile or 0344 809 0202 from any other phone.
Use of our services in our Europe Zone is subject to our fair usage policy.
Tariffs with more than 25GB of monthly data
If your UK monthly data allowance is over 25GB, you’ll have a Roaming Limit of 25GB when roaming in our Europe Zone. This means you can use up to 25GB of your allowance at no extra cost – we’ll text you if you’re getting close to the limit, and again if you reach it.
If you’re on the new system and have an unlimited data allowance, your data service will stop when you reach 25GB. You’ll need to buy a data roaming Bolt-On to continue using data.
For all other customers, whether you’re on the old system or the new system, you can still use data if you reach our Roaming Limit but you’ll be charged £3.50/GB for your ongoing usage.
These charges will apply until the following (depending on which is earliest);

You return to the UK
You reach your next bill cycle
**If you use all your UK data allowance when roaming outside the UK, you’ll need to buy a data Bolt On if you want to keep using data. See our data Bolt Ons here.
Tariffs with 25GB or less of monthly data
These tariffs are not subject to our Roaming Limit of 25GB. But if you use all your UK data allowance when roaming outside in the UK, you’ll need to buy a data Bolt On if you want to keep using data. See our data Bolt Ons here.
You can also roam as an O2 Pay As You Go customer in Europe at no extra cost.
